"Museums for equality: diversity and inclusion"

Every year since 1977, ICOM organizes International Museum Day, an exceptional moment for the international museum community and chooses a theme that is at the center of society's concerns.

With the museum closing, International Museum Day 2020 becomes special! We invite everyone to celebrate with us from a distance “Museums for Equality: diversity and inclusion”. And although they are not exclusive to museums and cultural institutions, their role is important due to the high consideration they have in society.

Museums have the social value of creating meaningful experiences for people of all backgrounds. There is no time like the present for museums to demonstrate their relevance by participating constructively in the political, social and cultural reality of modern society.
