INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY 2025 TO CELEBRATE THIS DAY, THE MUSEUM OFFERS ACTIVITIES ON THURSDAY, MAY 16 With the theme "The future of museums in ever-changing communities," International Museum Day 2025 invites reflection on how museums can navigate and contribute to a world undergoing profound social, technological, and environmental change. Museums have long been spaces for learning, reflection, and dialogue. However, in an ever-changing world, their role goes far beyond conservation. They are dynamic institutions that drive social innovation, embrace new technologies, and foster inclusive communities. The International Council of Museums (ICOM) created this day in 1977 to raise public awareness about the role of museums in the development of society. Since then, the event's popularity has continued to grow. PROGRAM FOR THURSDAY, MAY 16, 2025 1:00 PM. Presentation to the media of new pieces added to the permanent collection of the Archaeological Museum of Asturias
7:00 PM. Conference "Throwing the Enemy's Weapons into the Underworld. The Ritual Deposit of the Curved-Bladed Dagger from La Cerrosa-Lagaña (SuarÃas, Peñamellera Baja)" by Susana De Luis Mariño, Roberto De Pablo MartÃnez, and Mariano Luis Serna Gancedo
