At the Archaeological Museum of Asturias, the professor of Medieval History at the University of Oviedo, Javier Fernández Conde, will present his book El Monasterio de San Vicente, published by the Trea publishing house.

This research work is intended to cover the lack of a proper monograph on the history of the monastery of San Vicente, the current headquarters of the Archaeological Museum of Asturias. The medieval history of this monastery and its neighbour San Pelayo, both urban, one for men and the other for women, sheds much light on the history of Asturias at that time, in this case until the end of 1300. Given the enormous amount of documentation that is mostly preserved in the Archive of the monastery of San Pelayo, the study will be completed in the future with another publication that will delve into its monastic development until the 16th century.
