Presentation of the book in the Archaeological Museum of Asturias

In 2018, the 1,300th anniversary of the origin of the kingdom of Asturias, the first political entity to emerge in Christian Spain after the invasion Muslim of 711. For this reason, a scientific meeting was held in Oviedo, the presentations of which are the subject of this edition. Dedicated to the historical consequences of the kingdom of Asturias and its European context, they address decisive aspects of the historical reality of the Iberian Peninsula, the Christian West and the Mediterranean East in the 8th and 9th centuries, and offer an updated overview of the latest trends in research on this crucial period of European historical development.
