GUIDED TOURS TO LA LLUERA CAVE (Priorio, Oviedo)

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC WEDNESDAYS AND THURSDAYS FROM JULY TO SEPTEMBER

Discovered in 1979, it is considered an important outdoor sanctuary of Paleolithic art from the Solutrean and Magdalenian periods. It has a magnificent collection of engravings representing mostly animals (horses, aurochs, deer and bison among others). A few meters away is another small cave whose walls also host geometric figures made with the same technique as in the previous one.

Visits will be on Wednesdays and Thursdays, in three shifts, at 10:30, 12 and 13:30 hours, with a capacity limit of six people per shift and with admission limited to those over 7 years of age.

To visit the Cueva de la Lluera it is essential to make a reservation in advance by calling 674800385. The reservation schedule is from 3 to 4.45 p.m. from Wednesday to Saturday.

The cost of the general admission is 3.13 euros while the reduced admission, applicable to children from 7 to 12 years old, over 65 years old, with youth card and / or members of large families, will be 1.62 euros. On Wednesdays, admission will be free.

For the visit it is necessary to wear footwear suitable for slippery ground and steep slopes. The parking area is located in the church of Priorio, so to access the cave you must first walk a distance of about 2 kilometers. It is essential to be punctual, as access is not allowed once the visit has begun.
