DUELOS Y QUEBRANTOS: THE FENCING TREATISES IN THE OLD COLLECTION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF OVIEDO LIBRARY

This exhibition, organized by the University of Oviedo and curated by María José Ferrer, Carolina Lasheras y Daniel Ibaseta (Asociación Cultural Gaudiosa), and Fausto González, director of the university library, will bring the public one of the largest and most varied collections of works on fencing found in Spain and, without a doubt, the most complete existing in Spanish university libraries.

The exhibition will allow those a very little-known documentary heritage that, for the first time, is displayed and studied in a specific and comprehensive manner. In addition to the bibliographic documents, a dozen weapons can also be seen that help illustrate the content of the treatises, most of which have been loaned by the Archaeological Museum of Asturias
