ü María Antonia Pedregal Montes, director of the Archaeological Museum of Asturias This volume, published by the University of Cantabria, brings together a collection of works by prehistorians, collaborators, and disciples who pay tribute to this unique prehistorian who was professor of prehistory at the universities of Valladolid and Cantabria and director of the National Archaeological Museum, among other positions. Alfonso Moure Romanillo has been one of the most important figures in Spanish archaeology over the last fifty years. His research on the Paleolithic has been fundamental to the modernization of Spanish archaeological research, particularly through his work in Asturias, where he directed the main phase of the study of the Tito Bustillo Cave (1972–1986) and other rock art sites, such as Candamo and Coímbre. |
