6th Conference on Medieval Archaeology "Manuel Gómez-Moreno (1870-1970) and medieval architecture". APIAA is holding the 6th Conference on Medieval Archaeology at the Archaeological Museum of Asturias, dedicated to Manuel Gómez Moreno (1870-1970). The intention was to have held this conference last year, on the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of his birth and fiftieth anniversary of his death, but it was not possible due to COVID restrictions. The figure of this Granada-born archaeologist and art historian deserves to be remembered in itself, but for Asturias there are reasons that oblige us to feel indebted for his important contributions to the study of pre-Romanesque art and his role in important episodes for our heritage, such as the reconstruction of the Holy Chamber after the events of 1934. The talks will take place on 5, 19 and 26 November, with free admission until full capacity is reached. On Saturday 27th November we are planning an excursion to San Salvador de Valdediós, San Andrés de Bedriñana and San Salvador de Priesca. To participate in the excursion it is necessary to sign up by calling the Archaeological Museum (985 208 977) from Wednesday to Sunday.
